POSITION OVERVIEW: Reporting to the SVP, the Senior Account Executive will manage and execute strategic communications initiatives across sectors such as energy, electrification, manufacturing, and education. This mid-level role requires a combination of client account management expertise and strategic communications skills, focused on delivering impactful marketing, PR, and content strategies. You will collaborate with internal teams and clients to develop campaigns, manage projects, and deliver measurable outcomes.

 

AREAS OF FOCUS:


Client Account Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and the successful delivery of projects.
  • Manage client relationships, providing 360-degree support by guiding clients, coordinating internal teams, and engaging with external stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, while consistently exceeding client expectations.

Strategic Communications & Narrative Development

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communications plans tailored to sectors such as energy, electrification, manufacturing, tech and education sectors.
  • Provide strategic guidance on securing funding and navigating political environments and government incentives to craft messaging and communication strategies that align with client goals.
  • Collaborate with clients to create narrative change initiatives, positioning them as thought leaders in their industries.

Campaign Development & Content Creation

  • Lead multi-channel campaign development, including digital, social media, and influencer marketing, to drive brand engagement and awareness.
  • Execute content marketing strategies by creating, editing, and distributing high-quality content aligned with the client’s long-term goals and narrative.
  • Write press releases, position papers, fact sheets, and other materials for policy initiatives, campaigns, and events.

Event Marketing & Media Relations

  • Execute event marketing strategies, including planning, promotion, and management for client events.
  • Build and maintain press relationships, executing media strategies that drive brand visibility and align with client objectives.
  • Develop media training and messaging support for clients, grassroots leaders, and staff involved in public speaking or media engagements.

Brand Management & Communications Training

  • Demonstrate an understanding of brand management and stewardship, ensuring consistent messaging across platforms.
  • Train and support clients and internal teams on effective external communications and media strategies.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor campaign performance, providing detailed reporting to clients and adjusting optimized results.


SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong understanding of the energy, electrification, manufacturing, tech and education sectors preferred.
  • Proven experience in account management and strategic communications with a successful track record in project execution.
  • Expertise in multi-channel campaign management, including social media, digital marketing, and influencer marketing.
  • Experience in event marketing, content creation, and campaign strategy.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding communication (both written and verbal), organization, and time management skills
  • Collaboration with cross functional teams (Project Management, Content, Creative, Media, Digital, etc.)


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing communications or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  •  5+ years of experience in marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field.


LOCATION AND SCHEDULE

  • 8:00am-5:00pm Monday – Friday
  • Open to candidates located in: Decatur/Central IL, Chicago IL, or Washington DC area
  • Hybrid (Illinois) in-office 3 days per week / remote option 2 days per week or Remote (if out of state)
