Electronic Imaging Technician

Location: Nashville, TN

Start: ASAP

Duration: 2 month contract (possible extension)

Local/Onsite (vaccination required, i.e MMR, Varicella, Hep B, TB Test, and Tdap )

Schedule: (3pm to 12pm, 5 days/week). Some weekends required (every other week). If you work the weekend, you’ll have 2 days off during the week.

SUMMARY

The Electronic Imaging Technician coordinates and distributes patient's radiology images. This is an entry level position. Local candidates only.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Entry level HIT experience is preferred.
  • Prior imaging/radiology experience is not required but preferred.
  • Requires good communication skills and may require the ability to provide some customer service to patients/providers.


DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide Patients and their representatives with requested imaging discs
  • Provide staff and other facilities or agencies with requested medical imaging where authorized
  • Receive and import medical imaging from outside sources
  • Send requests not handled by the imaging library to the appropriate location
  • Inform various contacts of the status of requests as appropriate, noting any delays or limitations
  • Ensure that requested interpretations of outside medical images are arranged
  • Resolve or route tickets created by hospital staff
  • Answer the phone and provide information or assistance as appropriate
  • Ensure the office is stocked with supplies
  • Ensure equipment is functional or notify helpdesk/management if issues arise and cannot be resolved
  • Ensure that media that is being shipped via FedEx or USPS is prepared



EDUCATION

· High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) and 2 years relevant experience.
