What Are We Looking For?


Way Law is searching for an Assistant for Business Development & Marketing. We are looking for a detailed oriented, intelligent, and driven initiative taker. Excellent writing skills and clear communication skills are a must. Kindness, passion, and charisma are critical. 


Your goal is to help us be efficient through various administrative tasks. Your responsibilities will include basic administrative and clerical activities providing support to all aspects of the business development lifecycle and marketing activities. 


This is a great opportunity for an entry level staffer to learn and grow with a company.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Maintaining the customer relationship management (CRM) database, preparing related reports for the appropriate team members, serving as coordinator on business development activities pursuits, and generally supporting the Business Development and Marketing teams.  
  • Providing general administrative assistance including, but not limited to, scheduling and organizing meetings, managing calendars, assisting with email and other communication management, sending or receiving mail or other communication.
  • Editing, proofreading, and formatting business development and marketing copy and engagement letters.
  • Assisting with the development of proposals, presentations, and speaking engagement materials.
  • Supporting the firm’s marketing efforts and website content updates.
  • Communicating with firm clients and potential clients; assisting with onboarding.
  • Participating in meetings, helping to prepare minutes & notes and track the status of deliverables and action items.
  • Conducting daily and weekly monitoring of business opportunities according to firm practices.
  • Researching topics of interest that advance Business Development or Marketing team goals.
  • Act as coordinator on specific opportunities, supporting the team during pre- and post-proposal phases to compile data, collect documents, or conduct other preparation activities.
  • Welcoming visitors to the office.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your role will involve providing administrative and creative support to our Business Development & Marketing teams. The goal of these teams is to help spread our message of doing law differently to as many people as we can. 


What Does a Qualified Applicant Need?


We’re looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration, liberal arts or a related field, or at least 2 years of related experience in marketing or sales, or some combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines and complete day-to-day projects in a timely fashion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or Canva.


This is an in-person (non-hybrid or remote) opportunity located in Richmond, Virginia.

The anticipated starting salary for this position is $42,600. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, and level of education attained.
