LHH is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Interim Benefits Manager to oversee and manage our client's employee benefits programs during a transitional period. The Interim Benefits Manager will be responsible for ensuring the effective administration of benefits, leading open enrollment processes, and providing expert guidance on benefits-related matters. This role requires a strong understanding of employee benefits, excellent communication skills, and will compensate between $35-42/hr, contingent on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Benefits Administration:
- Oversee the day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, life insurance, disability, wellness programs, and other offerings.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits.
- Resolve employee inquiries and issues related to benefits in a timely and professional manner
Open Enrollment:
- Lead the annual open enrollment process, including the planning, communication, and execution phases.
- Collaborate with HR, payroll, and external vendors to ensure a smooth and efficient open enrollment process.
- Prepare and distribute educational materials and conduct presentations to inform employees about benefit options and any changes.
Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with benefits providers and vendors, ensuring that service levels are met and costs are controlled.
- Review and negotiate contracts with benefits providers as needed.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure all benefits programs comply with legal requirements, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and other relevant regulations.
- Prepare and submit required reports to government agencies and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits management, with a strong focus on open enrollment.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
