SUMMARY

Under general direction, oversees and manages day-to-day operation of the Atrius Health Data Center, Server, Network Engineering, Telephone, Application Delivery, IT Asset Management, and Storage teams which operate on a 24x7x365 basis. Supervises IT infrastructure management team. Works with Optum colleagues on technology road map projects, matching Atrius needs with Optum recommended products and solutions. Oversees the ongoing management and operation of the backup infrastructure, enterprise monitoring, datacenter facilities, including both Datacenter facilities as well as smaller MDF/IDF campus rooms. Manages the sustained engineering and maintenance for server and network systems across all practices of Atrius Health including UNIX and Windows, Data securtity, SAN, WAN and LAN environments. Establishes short and long-range goals to ensure capacity meets future requirements, including the development of methodologies and strategies for systems analysis, installation and support. Has primary responsibility and oversight for supporting all technical infrastructure in a multi-vendor, multi-platform computer and network environment. Collaborates with Optum enterprise architects to develop and implement standards, policies, and procedures necessary to ensure the viability, security and integrity of the server and network infrastructure. Directs workflow, resolves technical problems and ensures general operations conform to established standards. Must be familiar with a diverse set of technologies including Ethernet and fiber networking, border security including VPN and Firewalls, Storage Area Networks, server hardware, Microsoft operating systems, UNIX operating systems, VMware and Citrix.


EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent education, training or experience) in computer science or related discipline. Advanced degree a plus.


EXPERIENCE

Seven to ten years management experience, including a record of successful delivery of IT solutions as an individual, Team Lead and or/ IT Manager required. Strong, hands-on operations background with a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of Datacenter, proactive monitoring and servers operations. Significant experience with mission critical systems in a 24X7X365 environment. Must possess sound judgment with the ability to work and make decisions in a fast-paced environment. Thorough knowledge of computer operations support including an understanding of electrical power, HVAC and fire suppression systems.

Demonstrated strong logical and technical problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to learn and quickly comprehend new concepts. Demonstrated strong judgment and decision making ability. Ability to excel in idea generation, evaluation, and prioritization, customer and partner engagement, and cross-functional technical program management. Ability to work w/technical and non-technical resources to get things done. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
