Job Description


The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing our KG Collective Cambridge Team in its day-to-day sales operations. The manager’s primary responsibility is to coordinate and facilitate sales transactions of the store and sustain a high level of customer service. The Assistant General Manager maintains records, fosters positive vendor relations, embraces customer education, understands marketing, and complies with all documented state laws, regulations, and security procedures to safeguard staff and consumers. The manager will train, mentor and coach associates, help determine high demand products to carry and assist in determining best pricing based on prevailing market conditions. The Assistant General Manager will manage and report all sales transactions to leadership. This key role will lead all retail sales functions and be responsible for providing strategic input and hands-on management. We are looking for a very people-oriented leader with proven retail sales experience and the motivation to take their career to the next level.

This high-profile role reports to our CEO and will collaborate with all vertically integrated departments including compliance management and our leadership team. The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in retail management. At least one year of retail cannabis experience is required.


JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Implement all sales operational rules, policies and procedures to advance the company’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives.
  • Manage, educate, mentor and coach associates and direct their activities in growing sales revenues. Make staff recommendations regarding hiring, training, coaching, disciplining, terminating, and advancing associates.
  • Implement company retail sales policies and ensure staff adoption and execution of best practices.
  • Manage and inspire staff to deliver the highest level of customer service.
  • Review associate performance regularly, provide feedback and coaching and maintain employee records.
  • Ensure safety and satisfaction of all customers and employees.
  • Ensure ongoing staff education on recreational cannabis products, strains, and consumption methods.
  • Assist in development of sales forecasts and budgets.
  • Fulfill staffing needs and coordinate employee scheduling.
  • Liaise with Cannabis Control Commission (CCC), law enforcement, vendors, landlords, and local community as needed.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of all strains and products in store inventory as well as industry wide product and trend knowledge.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the retail sales process and results. Remain current with industry best practices, trends and technologies.
  • Improve the business processes for all key aspects of retail sales operations through analysis and collaboration with internal team members and vendor partners.
  • Interface with Licensing and Compliance Representative as needed to support compliance with all appropriate retail sales policies, procedures, safety, rules and regulations.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of Point-of-Sale system to monitor transactions, inventory movement and support attainment of our stated sales goals and objectives.
  • Develop and report Key Performance Indicators including transaction analysis, sales forecast accuracy and consumer delivery performance.
  • Maintain records and check accuracy of sales counts and investigate and resolve any discrepancies, informing management of findings.
  • Exercise independent judgment, analytical and problem-solving skills in order to resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate and build positive relationships with our leadership team to effectively make recommendations, implement process improvements to drive positive sales revenues.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:


  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail sales management.
  • Experience managing cannabis retail sales is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in the cannabis industry is highly desirable.
  • Experience with METRC is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Point-Of-Sale system Flow Hub highly desirable.
  • Experience working in retail, services or pharmaceutical experience is highly desirable.
  • Action-oriented and solution driven with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in retail and customer service experience is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in professional and life experience.
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Self-driven
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Must be authorized to live and work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
