Salary: $45 per hour | 5-10 hours per week

Position Summary: People Operations Consultant is responsible for the overall management of the personnel of the company. This role encompasses consulting on daily operations that keep the company thriving. The mission of the People Ops Consultant is to streamline the HR processes and maintain the positive and energetic work environment where the Iowa IV team can excel. This position requires an individual that can make an impact on this high performing team and ensure the company's operations are compliant with state and federal regulations that are seamlessly integrated with an HR software.


Responsibilities:

  • HR Administration: Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Onboarding: Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, including setting up new hire orientation, welcome boxes, and ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
  • Employee Administrative Support: Serve as a point of contact (first point if full time position) for employee inquiries related to people operations policies, benefits, and protocols/procedures, providing prompt and accurate information.
  • Benefits Administration: Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries and ensure that all benefits related documents are properly maintained.
  • Compliance: Help ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations. Assist in maintaining and updating employee handbooks and policies.
  • Data management: Generate people operations reports and assist with data analysis to support the leadership in making informed decisions.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve people operations processes and contribute to the development of new initiatives that enhance the employee experience.
  • Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned to support the leadership team.


Communication Cycle:

  • Weekly: Leadership meeting.
  • Monthly: Meet with each location manager.
  • Quarterly: Employee meeting/team leadership meeting/team building event.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field; Graduate or similar advanced degree highly preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in HR serving as either a HR coordinator or HR generalist.
  • Proven experience in teaching, coaching, or mentorship and the proven ability to guide and support individuals and teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with extreme attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret data and trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner, and capable of effectively leading and motivating a diverse team.
  • Robust problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast paced work environment, adapting to changing priorities and demands.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Dedicated to upholding the highest ethical standards and maintaining strong professional integrity.
  • Preferred: proficient in software platforms like Square, Shopventory, PracticeQ, and Connecteam.
