About Us:

nothing else is a recently launched skincare brand dedicated to serving customers with sensitive skin. We are redefining clean beauty with our revolutionary rosemary extract that allows us to formulate products without the harmful chemicals and preservatives found in 99.9% of products. Our products contain just 5 real ingredients and nothing else. As we scale production, we’re looking for an experienced Chief Science Officer (CSO) to join us in an advisory capacity.


Role Overview:

We are seeking a passionate CSO with a strong background in cosmetic chemistry to become the scientific pillar of our brand. This will include product development, r&d, creating consumer education strategies, and becoming an expert on rosemary extract. You will be providing high-level operational guidance without being involved in the day-to-day management. This is a fractional/advisory role, requiring only a few hours per week, ideal for a professional looking to lend their expertise to an innovative startup.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: build a roadmap for product innovation and scientific communication, translate scientific insights into actionable strategies, and align our vision with market trends and consumer needs.
  • R&D: recommend new product ideas and provide research on new ingredients.
  • Product Development Strategy: refine current product formulations
  • Consumer Education: Develop strategies to effectively communicate the science behind our products and ingredients, particularly the benefits of rosemary extract.
  • Advisory Role: Offer expert advice on the beauty industry


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years experience in the cosmetic industry.
  • Advanced degree in biology, chemistry, cosmetic science, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in product development and R&D.
  • Experience in guiding startups or early-stage companies.

Duration & Compensation:

  • Duration: This is a fractional, part-time role for 4 months, from September 1st to December 31, 2024.
  • Compensation: Paid hourly, competitive, based on experience and scope of work.
