Location: Pittsburg, PA

Supplier Quality Engineer (Our understanding): A supplier quality engineer (SQE) ensures that products and supplies from vendors and suppliers are high quality, free of damages and defects, and follow government, company, and manufacturing standards. These professionals also advise on increasing the quality of these products and make suggestions to improve manufacturing processes. Their tasks involve overseeing manufacturing processes, logistics, and issues related to supply chain management. SQEs typically develop relationships with suppliers, act as a liaison between them and company representatives, and create reports and databases of provider information to help ensure the company works with the highest quality vendors.
Duties for the role:
- Ensuring suppliers for the company maintains all regulations and requirements
- Creating and updating a supplier database with updated records of performance
- Reviewing guidelines for product assembly and ensuring all materials and resources are available
- Creating quality control guidelines and protocols
- Training new employees, suppliers, and vendors on quality assurance procedures and protocols
- Providing advice to vendors on how to reduce defect rates
- Performing logistics tasks, such as communicating with vendors when supplies don't meet quality standards
- Assessing products and supplies from vendors to ensure their quality
- Ensuring manufacturing processes comply with requirements and guidelines
- Creating and promoting strategies to increase the quality and efficiency of systems and products
- Acting as a liaison between vendors and company leaders, determining solutions to any challenges to quality standards
- Visiting vendor facilities to ensure they uphold quality standards

Current requirement for the position:
At a high level the onboarded person has responsibilities to focus on 3 areas as listed below, in addition to the above skillsets.
1. Check for current processes and ensure design freeze with all CTQs identified on the part prints. To ensure validation (PSW, PPAP, IQ/OQ/PQ) is complete for all processes and ensure all documentation is complete before the lift and shift activities.
2. Support lift and shift processes and to ensure 95% FTT at the receiving site after installation/validation/run off. This involves assessing current downtimes on quality issues at the site, field complaints, process issues, understand root causes and resolve for corrective action to improve productivity to achieve 95% FTT at the receiving site.
3. Once transfer activities are complete to the receiving site, need to support localization of parts at the receiving site with appropriate vendor management to receive parts within AQLs desired by the parent company policies and procedures
