JAM – JUNCTION ARTS & MEDIA is seeking a Development and Communications Director with experience in non-profit fundraising to join the JAM senior management team of a dynamic, growing media arts organization to lead fundraising efforts and strengthen JAM's community engagement in the Upper Valley of NH and VT. This position reports to the Executive Director, works closely with the JAM staff and board, and interacts directly with the local community. This position is integral to JAM’s three-year strategic plan, which prioritizes building a durable and sustainable home for JAM in a changing funding landscape. This position is full-time/exempt, competitive salary commensurate with experience, includes benefits, and can be performed partially remote. 


Primary Responsibilities:

Development:

Manage grants and sponsorships:

○ Develop and maintain a database for grant and sponsor management

○ Cultivate relationships with sponsors aligned with JAM’s mission and activities,

including the WRIF Film Festival, to meet annual sponsorship fundraising goals.

○ Find aligned grant prospects and write proposals, including narrative, budget,

and related documentation, for JAM activities, and related final reports.

Manage fundraising campaigns and reports:

○ Lead JAM annual appeal and other fundraising appeals throughout the year.

○ Produce JAM’s annual report, including writing, design, print and distribution.

Manage Membership program:

○ Develop and manage Membership program for individuals and organizations.

○ Manage relationships with individual donors/members through email, snail mail,

in-person outreach, and member/donor events to sustain and grow

memberships.

Communications:

Manage strategic communications including:

○ Newsletters, emails, print mailings, web pages and forms, social media, and multimedia production aimed at increasing and retaining memberships, attracting sponsorships, and growing general community awareness of JAM’s services and value.

○ Develop and maintain CRM and other database systems as needed to support donor tracking and communications and increase audience engagement.

General:

○ Attend staff meetings and maintain regular, open communication with staff and

community partners to support short- and long-term organizational goals.

○ Occasional work on evenings and weekends, as well as performing other

duties as assigned.


The ideal candidate possess the following skills and background:

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent.
  • 3 years minimum experience and proven track record in Development and/or Communications or position with related responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication skills in speaking and writing with warmth and empathy to support the organization's mission to build community through the media arts.
  • Experience building/managing donor/grant tracking databases or related data systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of email marketing platforms, Wordpress, and audience engagement analytical tools. 
  • Familiarity and strong relationships with the communities of the Upper Valley of VT and NH, including individuals, organizations and local municipalities.
  • Creativity, imagination, self-starter, broad curiosity and willingness to learn and work as a team.
  • Previous experience with community media and/or the non-profit arts sector is a plus.
