We have assembled a diverse team of curious, creative people who want to find purpose in their work and support each other in the process. The company recently closed Series B funding and has ~40 employees. ReferWell is entering its next phase of growth and needs a manager that can keep the team productive and focused on their jobs, not the technology they use to get it done.

Internal IT Manager Role:

We are seeking a candidate to run our internal IT Management with the experience and enthusiasm to generate the trust and confidence of fellow members of the team. Flexibility and a service-oriented attitude will be the key to successfully contributing to the success of the company in fulfilling its mission.

The IT Manager (ITM) is responsible for overseeing the information technology needs of the organization, including the implementation, maintenance, and management of the office IT systems and infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the efficient operation of all devices and software, providing on- and offboarding services as well as ongoing technical support to staff.

The ITM provides deep technical expertise to our staff, working closely with the CTO and HR department to ensure new employees get set up quickly and correctly, that employees’ questions and concerns about their devices and software tools are answered promptly, and that offboardings are handled timely.

The position is based in our Stamford, CT office and reports directly to the CTO. We currently work in a hybrid model, in-office on Tuesdays and Thursdays and remotely the other days. The company reserves the right to modify the in-office/remote schedule as business needs dictate. While some off-hours work may be required for system maintenance or emergency updates, the expectation is this is a working-hours-based position.

Primary Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Develop and implement IT strategies to meet the business’s objectives.
  • Assess and recommend new technologies and software to improve efficiency and productivity, especially by monitoring performance and issues.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems for employees.
  • Maintain and track the inventory of devices and software, and ensure compliance with security protocols including remote device management.
  • Manage the organization's in-office wireless infrastructure, including servers, routers, switches, and other networking equipment to ensure security compliance.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff, addressing IT-related issues promptly to ensure timely resolution of technical problems.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for IT processes, procedures, and user guides.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) are a plus.
  • Proven experience as an IT Manager (5+ years) serving a small to medium-sized business.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and network management.
  • Proficiency in IT tools and software relevant to the organization’s needs; specifically, experience with Hexnode, InTune, Sophos and other asset inventory and remote device control tools is a big plus.
  • Experience with IT security and risk management practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong collaboration and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Candidate Profile:

  • Results oriented, organized, efficient and a resourceful team player at ease in a dynamic collaborative environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including demonstrated comfort and finesse communicating with senior leadership both orally and in writing.
  • Energy and passion for teamwork and collaboration.
  • A willingness to roll up their sleeves and deliver results.
  • Ability to use data and statistics to identify patterns, enriching your recommendations for process/product improvements.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with advocating for your customers’ needs within your organization and driving to solutions.
  • Empathy for who you work with; you identify with their challenges and your desire to delight shines through in your communications.

Interested candidates should submit their resume and a cover letter detailing their qualifications and experience.
