Job Description:

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for enhancing the manufacturing processes and ensuring optimal equipment performance. The ideal candidate will develop technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes, providing expert support to resolve equipment breakdowns and quality issues. You will play a key role in assisting with the tech transfer of new processes, executing plant projects, and ensuring compliance with documentation standards.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Develop technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Support resolution of major equipment breakdowns and quality issues in the suites.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) support to Manufacturing and other departments for the design and operation of process equipment.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and technical analyses on manufacturing equipment and processes, including PI data analyses, CIP/SIP circuit reviews, MOC analyses, and flow path analyses.
  • Assist with the tech transfer of new processes into the facility.
  • Modify and develop preventative maintenance plans and create spare parts.
  • Complete change request lot assessments to support lot release.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of plant projects involving equipment changes and process improvements.
  • Execute commissioning protocols (installation, operation, CIP/SIP, and wet testing) with support and guidance from a supervisor.
  • Own change requests and complete change request tasks to support project completion.
  • Assist the Quality department with deviation investigations.
  • Participate in RCAs as the Engineering representative.
  • Assist with the completion of Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) actions.
  • Review and revise Engineering and Manufacturing related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and maintenance assessments/procedures because of CAPA, equipment/process changes, and error prevention activities.
  • Complete engineering review and approval of batch records.
  • Initiate Engineering Document Change Requests (EDCRs) for updates to Engineering documents, including engineering drawings.
  • Author commissioning protocols (installation, operation, CIP/SIP, wet testing).


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3-7 years of relevant experience in the Biotech or Fluid Processing/Manufacturing industry.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency in documentation and process improvement methodologies.
