Duration – 3 Months+ Contract to hire


As a Government Audit Finance and Compliance Analyst, you will work within a broader group of Financial and Compliance Analysts in the Government Finance team. This team is responsible for supporting all Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) audits and assists in other government accounting and compliance functions.

Top Skills:

  • Familiarity with Government Cost Principles and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS): FAR, DFARS, and CAS
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge – Pivot Tables, VLookup, HLookup
  • Moderate level of SAP experience, especially in report downloads

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure prompt and accurate responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) from the DCAA or the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) in support of required business and financial audits
  • Quickly learn and apply new skills using education and experience
  • Retrieve supporting documentation to substantiate proposed or claimed costs on government contracts, both electronically and physically
  • Collaborate with employees and auditors of varying experience and knowledge levels
  • Adapt to changing priorities and clarify ambiguous audit requests
  • Liaise with DCAA auditors to clarify requests and explain supporting documentation
  • Reconcile supporting detailed data to submitted summary data
  • Participate in reviews of expenses for adherence to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 31 for allowable cost determination
  • Perform SAP downloads, data mining, and data analysis to support government requests, as required
  • Track and organize Government Requests for Information (RFIs) to assist in response timeliness
  • Organize and maintain project files and supporting documentation
  • Handle various ad hoc requests efficiently and timely

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance with 6+ years of experience in an accounting, business, or finance background OR;
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance with 2+ years of experience in an accounting, business, or finance background OR;
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance with 0+ years of experience in an accounting, business, or finance background
  • Fundamental understanding of accounting principles and processes, and familiarity with audit testing and substantiation requirements
