Job Summary: The General Manager, Live Events is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and management of live events from start to finish. This role ensures successful event operations by leading teams, managing budgets, and developing strategies to achieve company goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in event production, operations, and team leadership, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality experiences that align with client expectations and company standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of live event operations, including planning, execution, and post-event evaluation.
  • Lead and manage event production teams, including coordinators, technicians, and vendors, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and client service teams to ensure event objectives are aligned with business goals and client needs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and key stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction throughout the event lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legal regulations during event planning and execution.
  • Monitor and assess event performance through KPIs and feedback, implementing improvements for future events.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technology, and innovations to continually improve event services and offerings.
  • Develop contingency plans to handle any potential disruptions or challenges during events.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, motivation, and accountability within the event teams.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in live event management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or general management role.
  • Strong knowledge of event production, logistics, and technology, including audio/visual and staging elements.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale events, from planning through to execution.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in budgeting, financial planning, and cost management.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and adapt to changing environments.
  • Strong client relationship management skills.
  • Proficient in event management software and tools.
