You will work with our Aerospace VR training division to develop next-gen software and hardware that adds functionality to custom flight controls. You will combine state-of-the-art virtual and mixed reality environments with motion control systems to replicate real flight.
Job Description:
We are seeking a meticulous and creative Software Documentation Writer who can create and maintain comprehensive documentation for our software products. This role involves working closely with our Software Developers and Engineers to create detailed directions, user guides, and operating manuals that are easy to follow for non-technical end users. This role uses a blend of technical writing and graphic design skills to translate complex information in a clear, concise, and visually appealing manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Software Developers, Engineers and Project Managers to gather and clarify technical information during all stages of software development.
- Write, edit and update detailed software documentation including directions, user guides, and operating manuals that are clear, concise and easy to understand for a wide range of end users.
- Design and integrate graphics, infographics, and other visual elements to enhance the readability and usability of documentation.
- Ensure all documentation complies with established standards and guidelines. Partner with CEO for final quality control check.
- Continuously update and revise documentation based on feedback, software updates, and new releases.
- Standardize documentation practices and create templates for new documents.
- Manage and organize documentation repositories to ensure easy access and retrieval.
- Stay updated with industry standards and best practices for technical writing and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Strong graphic and infographic design skills with proficiency in Adobe suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Strong visual skills for creating easily understandable graphics.
- Proficiency with Windows computers, the MS Office Suite, and working with SharePoint databases.
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills with the ability to write clearly and concisely for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong focus on accuracy and consistency in documentation.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in technical documentation.
- Previous technical writing experience is required
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience as a Technical Writer or Documentation Specialist in software documentation (including understanding and creating troubleshooting guides).
