Technical Writer

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our dynamic team at Journal Technologies. As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating high-quality documentation and content that effectively communicates complex technical information to our users.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain accurate, well-structured, and user-friendly documentation, including user guides, technical specifications, API references, installation guides, tutorials, and troubleshooting guides for our software products.
- Write concise and comprehensive release notes for software updates and new features, highlighting changes, bug fixes, and improvements to keep users informed and facilitate smooth upgrades.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather information, clarify technical concepts, and ensure accuracy and completeness of the documentation.
- Continuously review and enhance existing documentation to improve clarity, readability, and usability based on user feedback and evolving product features.
- Contribute to the information architecture of the documentation and the house style guide.
- A bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Technical Writer in a software company, with a demonstrated track record of creating high-quality documentation and technical marketing content.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to organize information effectively, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, including planning, sprints, releases, and retrospectives.
- Proficient in writing clear and concise release notes to communicate software updates effectively and conveying the relevance of release updates to customers.
- Familiarity with text-based markup such as Markdown or AsciiDoc is preferred but not required.
- Proficient with Git versioning and branching for collaborative documentation implementation and maintenance.
- Proficient with command-line tools for Windows, macOS, or Linux.
- Understanding of relational database applications, including database design, querying, and administration, to produce accurate and informative documentation.
- A proactive and self-driven individual.
