Are you an experienced Programmer/Writer with a desire to excel? If so, then Talent Software Services may have the job for you Our client is seeking an experienced Programmer/Writer to work at their company in Redmond, WA.
Position Summary: The main function of a Technical Writer is to write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions. A typical technical writer is responsible for organizing, editing, and maintaining technical records and files.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology
- Maintain records and files of work and revisions
- Confer with client to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science or English, journalism, communications
- 8-10 years experience required
- Experience in in creating documentation for a technical audience
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
- Ability to read some programming code
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Years of Experience Required: 8 overall years of experience in the field.
- Degrees or certifications required: A Bachelor's degree in a technical field is required to be eligible for this role.
- Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain cloud services experience, strong technical communication experience, and instruction manual drafting experience.
- Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on meeting deadlines, and adhering to timelines, as well as quality of outcome – can we give the completed work a developer with 3-5 years' experience and they would be able to autonomously execute the steps successfully.
- Minimum 8 years experience with cloud or other tech.
- Minimum 8 years experience with technical writing/communications
- Minimum 8 years experience with manual/instructional writing.
