Who is Crown Data Systems?

Crown Data Systems is a leader in the air freight industry, providing state-of-the-art software solutions to first and last mile shipping agents. For over 20 years, we have developed innovative technologies that help shipping companies streamline their operations and meet evolving industry demands. At Crown, we place a strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration to create high-quality, reliable products for our customers. Our company culture prioritizes work/life balance, and we are committed to fostering a collaborative environment where teams work together to implement best practices using modern technology.

Job Overview

Crown Data Systems is looking for a proactive EDI Manager to lead and develop processes for our Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) operations. In this role, the EDI Manager will focus on designing, improving, and overseeing EDI workflows while mentoring and guiding a team of three specialists who handle many of the daily tasks. The right candidate will have a strong ability to create scalable processes and empower their team to execute these efficiently. Strong communication and leadership skills are a must, along with a deep understanding of EDI technology, testing, and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

●     Process Development: Design, implement, and continuously improve scalable processes to support a small team managing a large number of EDI links. Ensure procedures are clear, documented, and adaptable to the team’s needs.

●     Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of three EDI specialists, providing guidance, training, and support as they carry out day-to-day EDI tasks. Ensure the team is equipped to handle issues efficiently and effectively.

●     Workflow Optimization: Identify inefficiencies or inadequacies in our current EDI operations and develop solutions to optimize team and system performance and improve the speed and accuracy of EDI transactions.

●     Testing & Deployment Oversight: Oversee the development and execution of proper testing protocols, ensuring successful deployment of new EDI links and upgrades. Guide the team through validation processes with trading partners.

●     Monitoring & Issue Escalation: While your team will handle most routine tasks, you will monitor overall system performance, step in when high-level issues arise, and ensure quick resolution of escalated EDI problems.

●     Cross-Department Collaboration: Facilitate strong communication between the EDI and development teams to ensure smooth integration and alignment on projects and partner requirements.

●     Performance Reporting: Create and publish metrics that assess the team’s performance, identify areas for process improvement, and ensure EDI operations are meeting business goals.

●     Partner Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for high-level EDI communications, ensuring clear, consistent communication with key trading partners on new implementations, changes, and major issues.

Qualifications

●     Experience: Experience in EDI management, with a proven track record of developing processes and managing a team. Strong leadership and mentoring skills with experience overseeing a team and delegating tasks effectively.

●     Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of EDI standards (ANSI X12) and protocols, mapping, and integration tools. Ability to translate business requirements into actionable technical tasks for the team.

●     Process-Oriented: Expertise in creating and refining workflows that improve efficiency and scalability for EDI operations.

●     Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

●     Problem Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex EDI issues, with an emphasis on guiding the team in handling day-to-day challenges.

●     Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail in process development, reporting, and issue resolution.
