Looking for a highly talented and experienced HR Manager/Director for an innovative tech start-up in Chicago (West Loop) This is a Full-time and Fully On-Site position. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, then this is the role for you


The HR Manager/Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR operations, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, HR compliance, and strategic workforce planning. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of HR best practices, and the ability to align HR initiatives with the organization's goals and objectives.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement comprehensive human resources policies and procedures in alignment with organizational goals and legal requirements.
  • Lead and mentor the HR team, providing guidance and support in all areas of human resources management, including recruitment, performance management, employee relations, training, and development.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Conduct annual reviews of the employee handbook, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with legal regulations, industry standards, and best practices, with updates communicated to all employees.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and management, addressing inquiries, interpreting contracts, and resolving work-related issues.
  • Engage directly in hands-on activities and maintain regular face-to-face interaction with employees to foster operational excellence and effective communication.
  • Develop financial strategies for human resource operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and corrective actions.
  • Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure legal compliance.
  • Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and resolve personnel problems, recommending improvements to personnel policies and practices.
  • Lead the performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, and career development planning, to support employee growth and advancement.



Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in HR Management with a proven track record of success in implementing HR strategies and initiatives
  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Ideally coming from a start-up, tech, or agency.
  • Master’s Degree in HR/Organization Leadership Preferred
  • HR Certification (SHRM) Required
  • Thorough understanding of HR principles, practices, and regulations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in HRIS Software and MS Office Suite
