Position Overview:

As the Data Scientist, your elite skills will be used to develop and implement machine learning models to solve complex problems all while embracing the Agile mindset to foster innovation and rapid adaptation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret raw data, converting it into highly structured data for reporting purposes by leveraging the existing EDMAS data warehouse and Tableau systems
  • Conduct interviews with data source owners and end users to create source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries, data definitions, and metadata. This includes cataloging existing data sources and those planned for future enhancements and inclusion
  • Offer insights to the team responsible for designing and developing a solution that empowers skilled users to conduct research using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (Client) capabilities
  • Design and build enterprise data analytics strategy and governance standards


Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or STEM related specialty
  • 12 years of experience; 10 years must be specialized. This should include:
  • 3+ years of experience with artificial intelligence, data science, Client engineering, data research, software engineering, or data analytics
  • 5+ years of experience with modern Cloud computing technologies: AWS and Microsoft Azure
  • Expertise with developing models and ensembles in the AI/Client space, to include: selecting the best Python libraries for a given task, choosing appropriate pre-processing actions, performing analysis, and assessing model performance
  • Demonstrated experience with Generative AI and building feature repositories for training AI/Client models
  • Proven experience tuning neural networks, such as LLMs, on custom data sets and applying results to specific use cases
  • Proficiency with SQL to include using common table expressions, set operations, aggregated functions and nested subqueries
  • Knowledge of modern software design patterns including microservice design and edge computing
  • Fluency with AI/NLP frameworks, including Hugging Face, LangChain, Auto-GPT, or AgentGPT
  • Language experience with the Python, R, Scala
  • Superb problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference for candidate experienced with cloud AI Client capabilities (e.g., AWS, Databricks)
  • Background with Tableau, Power BI and other data visualization tools
  • Experience working in a Federal environment
  • Active Public Trust clearance

Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a U.S. Federal government client badge. Will be required to pass a government background investigation.
