Firm Overview:

Madigan & Lewis, LLP, is a highly respected family law firm located in San Mateo, California serving clients throughout the Silicon Valley. Our firm specializes in family law matters, including complex dissolutions, custody/visitation, support, parentage, and domestic violence litigation. We also handle collaborative divorce cases and mediation cases, as well as drafting and negotiating prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.


Position Overview:

We are currently seeking an Associate Attorney with at least two (2) years of family law or civil litigation experience to join our firm. Candidates with more experience are encouraged to apply. We would also consider candidates with an established civil litigation background who are seeking to transition their career to family law.


Qualifications: The ideal candidate possesses the following:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills and experience drafting discovery, motions, and pleadings.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Organized with acute attention to detail.
  • Growing advocacy skills both in negotiation and litigation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A sense of humor and desire to learn and grow professionally.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the CA Bar and in good standing.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in Family Law or Civil Litigation.
