About the role


Your Impact as (Bilingual) Paralegal/Legal Assistant Americas:


In this role, you will be responsible for managing the online legal contract request workflow, Intercompany, Secrecy, Joint Development, Distribution, Agency, and other agreements. Assist and help manage the corporate secretary (Cosec) and governance matters of Bekaert’s legal entities in the Americas.


This position is located at our Corporate Office, Marietta, GA under the supervision of the Regional Legal Counsel.


Remote work will be considered for an exceptional candidate.

The incumbent will be responsible for the following (but not limited to):

  • Draft and review contracts both in English and Spanish based on Bekaert templates
  • Assist legal counsel to develop new legal contract templates
  • Draft, review, and edit non-Bekaert standard agreements in English and Spanish
  • Participate in simple business contract negotiations with customers and suppliers in the US and Latin America
  • Support the regional counsel in the settlement of simple disputes with third parties
  • Organize and maintain Corporate Secretary related matters in an ongoing basis (drafting of annual meetings, non-project corporate changes and daily corporate documents)
  • Assist regional counsel with the standardization of Corporate Secretary processes throughout the Americas (North, Central, South)
  • Corporate books maintenance
  • Assist regional counsel with board meeting coordination and preparation (agenda and logistics support)
  • Assist legal counsel with the deployment of legal corporate policy
  • Assist legal counsel to prepare compliance awareness and training documents
  • Translation of legal and contractual documents English/Spanish
  • Other admin and/or substantial assistance requested by legal counsel
  • Assist legal counsel on major legal projects (new incorporation, equity transfer, expansion, merger, share pledge, acquisition etc.)

About You


Essential skills & competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Law and/or LLM, or equivalent experience
  • Possess Certificate in Paralegal Studies, or willing to obtain within first year of hire.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience for an international law firm or a multinational company
  • Working proficiency in verbal and written communication skills in Spanish
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
  • Computer skills. Good working knowledge of standard office technology and equipment, and general office procedures.
  • Foreign business knowledge is a plus.
  • Open to travel domestically and internationally
