UACL Logistics, LLC a subsidiary of Universal Logistics Holding, Inc. is currently seeking a Safety Manager for our Warren, MI office.


UACL Logistics, LLC provides Flatbed, Van, Over Dimensional, Oilfield, Reefer and Logistics Services throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico. As one of the strongest truckload carriers in the nation UACL Logistics, LLC has the ability to provide transportation services for our customers, agents, and owner operators. Ideal candidates will meet the following qualifications:

  • Intermediate to expert knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and NFPA
  • Four year degree preferred plus 3+ years of Safety management experience
  • Must possess effective communication skills
  • Must be detail orientated
  • Must be able to think and react quickly in adverse situations
  • Computer literate, with the ability to grasp new programs and suggest new applications


Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Provide information regarding the company and specific safety and compliance related programs.
  • Act as a liaison between corporate employees, regional management, company agents, and terminal managers.
  • Maintain contact with owner operators and company drivers. Conduct reviews and provide counseling to drivers.
  • Analyze safety statistics to identify problems, trends, and problem areas.
  • Perform required safety training on aspects such as log preparation, hours of service compliance, vehicle inspection requirements, HAZMAT, load securement, security, and fatigue.
  • Complete “walk around” inspections of vehicles to ensure compliance with FMCSA and state regulations.
  • Review logs and other documents, as necessary, to determine compliance.
  • Respond to accidents and claims situations.
  • Travel as necessary to complete company safety meetings and audits.
