We are looking for a Plant Controller for our FW Farms facility location in Fort Worth, Texas. This position will play a critical role within the Fort Worth plant and Finance department. The Plant Controller will direct and have responsibility for the plant’s accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of its financial reports. Directs and has overall responsibility for general and property accounting, internal auditing, and budgetary controls. Responsible for appraising operating results in terms of costs, budgets, polices of operations, trends and increased profit opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•Assist in establishing and maintaining accounting and operational controls in all aspects of financial planning, reporting, revenue recognition, expense management and effective measurement and control over all assets.

•Ensure all plant functions in the areas of cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, etc. are properly accounted for.

•Develop and maintain standard production cost models (labor tool), perform audits to determine accuracy.

•Provide financial support to all departments and assist them in areas of purchasing, inventory, costing, budgeting and understanding of financial statements.

•Extensive standard cost variance analysis, reporting and support including but not limited to:

oPurchase price variance, yield variance, efficiency and rate variances, fixed and variable overhead spending.

oSKU and customer mix analysis, ASP analysis, and contribution margin analysis

•Effective communicator with ability to develop and explain dynamic reports and analysis.

•Ensure alignment with plant goals and objectives, both financial and operational.

•Assist and lead the preparation of operating budgets for expense and capital requests.

•Prepare financial analysis to support capital expenditure requests (CAR’s) including the gathering of appropriate documentation and calculation of payback periods and ROI’s.

•Ensure that all plant assets are appropriately accounted for and coordinate periodic asset physical inventory.

•Ensure acumen and control in business decision making, where value creation and cash generation is always considered.

•Ensure local implementation of internal control procedures.

•Provide training, leadership and coaching to promote the development of other individuals within the plant controlling team.

•Play a critical role in the training and development of the Plant Management team’s understanding of financial statements and key performance indicators.

•Ability to participate and promote teamwork within the Plant Management team as well as with the Finance/Accounting groups across the company.

•Perform audits of plant business units to ensure accurate standard costs and yields in bill of materials.

•Manage Cost Accounting and Data Management Team

•Develop and implement written financial policies and procedures

•Other duties as assigned


Qualifications and Experience:

•Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required or seven (7) years of previous Plant Controller experience with proven results

•Seven (7) years financial management experience

•Food Manufacturing/Distribution experience preferred

•Experience with policies and procedures implementation

•Experience with system conversion

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•Ability to grow and support a dynamic and fast-paced business
