We are seeking an UAS Training Pilot to work a schedule in White Plains, NY.

Details:

Location: White Plains, NY

Long-term multi-year contract

Pay rate: $50.00hr-$60.00hr depending on experience

Schedule: Monday-Friday with travel up to 50% of the time within tri-state/northeast area

Project Overview:

  • Support NYPA's growing Robotics program.

Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Buildout of use cases and help identify flying techniques that will help capture the deliverable.
  • Help ensure that company is a leader in UAS safety and risk management techniques and policies.
  • Work closely with the UAS Program Manager to coordinate joint corporate communications and outreach to new and existing stakeholders.
  • Training pilots on new techniques that can help improve the deliverable for our pilots.
  • Help with training new Part 107 certification pilots with flying and internal processes
  • Ensure consistency in UAS operational procedures and policies and strictly enforce them across all company sites.
  • Assist with and support the implementation, development, training, exercising and maintenance of the Business Continuity Plan at Headquarters to minimize disruption of mission critical business operations following a disrupting event.
  • Help with the integration of new technologies and the implementation with existing functions

Skills:

  • FAA Certifications: Part 107 (Part 61 Preferred)
  • Ability to travel for one week at a time.
  • Preferred:
  1. Extensive knowledge of both UAS-related safety and utility infrastructure safety policies, techniques, and procedures
  2. Firm technical knowledge of the UAS market including the capabilities, strengths, and weaknesses of specific models and their manufacturers
  3. Proficient understanding of radio communications technology, especially those used in UASs
  4. Proficient understanding of UAS IT components including data integration, management, and usage

Education & Certifications:

  • Minimum of a 2-year college degree
  • FAA Certifications: Part 107, (Part 61 Preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in managing drone operations Strongly preferred
  • 1+ years of experience managing drone operations and equipment
  • 1+ years of experience working in the utility industry
