Responsibilities:

· Responsible for the development, enhancement and/or ongoing management of the organization’s financial reporting, accounting, auditing, data security/integrity, and compliance standards.

· Oversee the activities of the Accounting Department; supervises and manages the accounting team.

· Reconciles monthly statements for investment holdings; responsible for input of activity into general ledger.

· Reviews monthly bank reconciliations prepared by staff.

· Prepares monthly financial statements for organization and all partnerships.

· Acts as financial liaison to Board Finance Committee and Board of Directors.

· Responsible for management and coordination of annual audit process, to include preparation of all associated required materials and information

· Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulations.

· Responsible for processing remittances generated from payroll withholdings.

· Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for presentation to senior management and the board of directors.

· Monitor cash flow, investments, and financial performance indicators, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.

· Coordinate audits and tax filings, liaising with external auditors and regulatory authorities as necessary.

· Evaluate and optimize accounting systems and software to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.

· Provide guidance and support to departmental managers on budget planning, expense management, and grant compliance.


Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree required.

· 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or financial management roles, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.

· Thorough understanding of GAAP, nonprofit accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.

· Demonstrated expertise of general ledger, audits, AP/AR functions, taxation issues. Payroll experience desirable.

· Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills highly desirable.

· Exceptional communication skills

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.

· Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach to team management.
