Position Overview

The Senior Process Control Engineer is responsible for overseeing and enhancing process control systems within our organization. This role focuses on managing instrumentation and control strategies to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance across various processes. The ideal candidate will lead capital projects, provide technical support, and implement effective troubleshooting strategies to maintain operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee instrumentation and process control systems.
  • Lead capital projects from conception to implementation, ensuring adherence to project schedules.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for process control systems and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, including NFPA/NEC codes.
  • Develop and implement control strategies using DCS and PLC systems.
  • Manage external systems communications and HMI interfaces to optimize process operations.
  • Utilize Data Historian Systems for effective monitoring and data analysis.
  • Facilitate procurement processes for project-related equipment and services.
  • Participate in emergency response planning and execution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across departments.
  • Conduct annual turnaround planning and execution for process reliability.
  • Execute maintenance and reliability strategies to enhance system performance.
  • Implement management of change protocols efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in process control engineering or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in DCS systems, particularly EMERSON deltaV.
  • Strong knowledge of control strategies, PLCs, and HMI interfaces.
  • Experience with Data Historian Systems, specifically OSISoft PI Enterprise Server.
  • Familiarity with Ethernet Networking and TCP/IP protocol.
  • Solid understanding of HAZOP procedures and compliance regulations.
  • Excellent project management skills and experience managing capital projects.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Process Automtation experience is a MUST
