Skills/Qualities
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience in applying them to various financial transactions and reporting requirements.
- Several years of progressive experience in accounting roles, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility and proficiency.
- Effective communication abilities, both written and verbal, to interact with colleagues, management, auditors, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Support and supervise a small accounting team.
- Proficiency in using Excel for financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting purposes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Lead or assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciling accounts, posting journal entries, and preparing financial reports for management review.
- Oversee or assist in accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, monitoring aging reports, and managing collections or vendor payments as needed.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions and proper classification of expenses.
- Collaborate with other departments such as operations, and management to provide financial insights, support decision-making, and achieve organizational goals.
