Junior Estimator

DCS Contracting has a great opportunity for a Junior Estimator to join our team This position supports the Estimating team by gathering pricing, performing quantity take-offs, and delivering bids in collaboration with other Estimators.

DCS's office is conveniently located in Chandler, AZ off Germann Rd and Arizona Ave. Our office hours are 7am-4pm Monday-Friday.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Completes accurate take-offs for paving, concrete, and wet utilities
• Sets up bids into bidding software
• Prepares material lists for assigned bids
• Solicits quotes from subcontractors and suppliers and maintains correspondence
• Analyzes and inputs quotes in an organized manner
• Assists the Estimating team with tasks that relate to preparing estimates
• Performs on-screen takeoffs using Agtek 4D
• Works on multiple projects and helps as needed with other estimating responsibilities
• Meets all deadlines with necessary documentation
• Participates in on-going estimating training
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent technical training and/or experience
• 3 years of experience in the construction industry, ideally with a civil contractor or specialty subcontractor, in roles such as Field/Project Engineer, Project Manager, Takeoff Specialist, or Project Coordinator
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Experience using InEight estimating software is a plus
• Experience using Agtek software is a plus
• Knowledge of Arizona heavy civil market is a plus
