Due to a backlog of exciting unique projects,they are seeking a Curtainwall Project Architect with experience in both repair design and new curtainwall design to join the dynamic firm.

Job Overview:

My client is looking for a Curtainwall Project Architect to lead and manage projects involving both the repair and new design of curtainwall systems. This role will require hands-on experience with curtainwall detailing, design, and material selection, as well as expertise in building envelope performance. You will work closely with clients, consultants, and construction teams to deliver cutting-edge and efficient curtainwall designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and detailing of curtainwall systems for both repair and new construction projects.
  • Perform condition assessments of existing curtainwalls and develop effective repair strategies.
  • Collaborate with structural engineers, contractors, and fabricators to ensure constructability and performance of curtainwall systems.
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents for curtainwall designs.
  • Administer construction contracts and manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Perform field inspections and provide quality assurance during construction and installation.
  • Work with clients to understand project goals and translate them into functional, aesthetic, and durable curtainwall designs.
  • Manage communication between stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution from concept to completion.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Architect or Engineer with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in curtainwall design and repair.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software relevant to curtainwall detailing.
  • Strong knowledge of curtainwall systems, materials, glass façades, and building codes.
  • Experience in both commercial and institutional building projects.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with building envelope performance and thermal efficiency considerations.
  • Field experience in overseeing installation, construction inspections, and testing is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with performance testing of curtainwall systems.
  • Knowledge of LEED or other sustainability certifications.
  • Familiarity with waterproofing and air barrier systems.
