Entry Level Laboratory Assistant for Medical Device Validation Laboratory  


HIGHPOWER Validation Testing & Lab Services, Inc., a Henrietta NY based validation laboratory is looking for a full time entry level lab assistant to help us keep up with our current growth.  Candidate should be energetic and friendly and will provide laboratory support for a growing laboratory of technicians and scientists. The ideal candidate should have attention to detail, excellent communication skills, learn quickly and be a team player.  

The chosen candidate will work directly for the company’s Lab Manager.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Washing glassware
  • Preparing media
  • Preparing distilled water
  • Processing lab waste 
  • General lab maintenance
  • Calibration verification 
  • Maintaining lab equipment 
  • Keeping an inventory of lab supplies
  • Stocking/ordering lab supplies
  • Light laboratory housekeeping according to company policy
  • Light data entry
  • Performing population and resistance verification on biological indicators
  • Performing inoculations of biological indicators
  • Assisting other staff with laboratory duties as required 


This position will grow as the company expands and is a good opportunity for an individual who can be to work on time, follow company policy, and has a good work ethic.  


Working hours are 9:30-6:00 pm, with initial training hours at 7:30am - 4:00pm.


Skills Required:  Excellent written and oral communication skills, computer literate and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel extremely beneficial.   Experience with autoclaves and lab procedures is desirable, but not necessary.  Must be well organized and teachable, able to pick up task quickly, be a team player and able to multi-task in a busy lab environment.  


Starting salary range: Based on experience $16.50 - $18.00/hr.
