FGS Global (FGS), a leading strategic communications and government relations firm, is seeking a sharp and energetic junior communications professional to join the firm’s Strategic Communications Health practice. This is a great position for a proactive self-starter interested in communications and marketing and supporting a fast-paced and growing health practice. This position is based in our Washington, D.C. office.


RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Monitor and/or compile daily press clips for multiple clients
  • Assist client teams in prep for meetings/pitches
  • Basic writing and research tasks (including emails, meeting agendas, messaging documents, press materials, client documents, owned media content, etc.)
  • Build and maintain press lists
  • Pitch wide variety of media contacts
  • Prepare briefing documents, talking points, etc.
  • Administrative support for senior staff, including:
  • Managing all aspects of schedule
  • Preparing and submitting expense reports
  • Coordinating and booking travel
  • Filtering internal and external requests
  • Proactively identifying and addressing any immediate concerns or obstacles to ensure workflow moves smoothly
  • Managing sensitive matters with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Responding to requests outside of regular business hours as needed


ATTRIBUTES


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, plus 1-2 years of relevant internship experience
  • Interest in health industry
  • Previous experience in communications field, particularly media
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong writing and research skills
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Familiarity with social media platforms
  • Strong time management and organizational skills and the ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects at once with little direction
  • Flexible team player willing to do what it takes to get the job done; strong propensity to think multiple steps ahead and anticipate needs, challenges, and questions.
  • Ability to exercise intense discretion and confidentiality in a professional manner
  • Ability to adapt to new conditions, assignments and deadlines and apply appropriate judgment; enjoys a challenge
