The firm is seeking a Tennessee licensed litigation associate. The candidate will meet with clients, perform legal research; create strategies; draft pleadings; motions; written discovery; conduct depositions; organize; and marshal the matter through trial. The applicant will also be called upon to draft business formation documents, estate documents, and contracts.


The ideal applicant must have superior interpersonal skills, work well under pressure, be proactive, highly motivated, independent, dependable, and eager to learn. Communication and respect for other team members is imperative.

This position offers a unique opportunity for an attorney with minimal experience to learn and grow while beginning with an immediate client base and income source. There is also potential to utilize existing expertise in other practice areas to increase earning potential. The position includes conference space, and access to all the firm’s resources, including administrative staff, research tools, drafting software, and an extensive forms database.


Compensation:

Negotiable based on experience, desired payment structure, and degree of flexibility. Compensation may also be based on a percentage of earnings. Additional forms of compensation are negotiable and may include continuing legal education courses, privilege tax, fees, and bar association dues.

Responsibilities:

·        Manage litigation matters through trial.

·        Prepare estate planning documents including wills, revocable living trusts, and powers of attorney.

·        Prepare business formation documents, contracts, leases, and court pleadings.

·        Conduct in-person and remote consultations with potential and existing clients.

·        Research and analyze complex legal issues.

 

Qualifications:

·        3-5 years’ litigation experience.

·        Juris Doctorate.

·        Actively licensed and in good standing with the Tennessee State Bar.

·        Knowledge of Microsoft Office, and aptitude for learning other software programs.
