Senior Public Relations Specialist

Public Relations Responsibilities:

  • Write content for news releases, web, social media, and client communications
  • Pitch news stories to media and news publications
  • Coordinate interviews and required deliverables for media relations efforts
  • Develop news story ideas, pitch, and pursue editorial placements
  • Work directly with clients and manage client relationships


Digital Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Use design and editing tools including Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, and other technologies to tell stories visually
  • Knowledge of social media channels including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, Snapchat, and emerging platforms
  • Craft engaging and accurate content that furthers clients’ business goals
  • Video editing
  • Working knowledge of social media accessibility features and best practices including implementing alt text and video captioning
  • Write effective and compelling captions & content
  • Managing, monitoring, and updating client websites using common website platforms
  • Creating appropriate website content aligned with each organization’s strategy


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum four years’ experience in a field related to public relations, journalism, marketing or media
  • Agency experience preferred
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft applications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients, media and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to multitask and to adhere to deadlines
  • Advanced writing skills
  • Understanding of local, regional, and national print and online media
