GENERAL SUMMARY

Leads and manages plant financial activities and staff. Develops, interprets and implements complex financial, costing and accounting practices for financial planning and control. As a member of the Finance Department and Management Team, incorporates our Vision, Core Values and Major Missions into work environment and contributes to the attainment of overall company performance and strategic goals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Leads and manages daily plant financial and accounting activities, which includes, managing, coaching, training and development of staff members who are accountable for production accounting, inventory, cost accounting, accounts payable and various accounting functions and reporting.

2. Performs monthly general ledger journal entries and financial analysis and reporting in the areas of costs of goods sold, tooling expense, and others. Reviews GL for reasonableness and prepares casual analysis against budget and/or recast. Reviews casuals with senior management.

3. Prepares, maintains, and distributes detailed weekly major program metrics spreadsheets and reports. Attends weekly meetings and assists in explaining performance drivers, key performance metrics and issues.

4. Reviews and analyzes plant financial statements to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to achieve financial targets. Assists plant with operational metrics that are linked to financials.

5. Manages and performs forecasting and budget processes. Reviews reports with plant leadership team and creates formal presentation to senior management.

6. Performs a detailed review of all capital expenditures submitted for approval to determine financial reasonableness. Ensures funds have been identified in the capital plan.

7. Provides financial representation in leadership team meetings and other special purpose meetings, as needed.

8. Handles the preparation and communication of financials between plant management and corporate management.

9. Monitors and maintains internal controls to ensure controls are working properly in compliance with established procedures, GAAP and FAS.

10. Provides assistance to department, plant management, and senior management and completes assigned projects, as requested.

11. Contributes to and supports the existence of a positive work environment through personal involvement by communicating, interacting and behaving in a manner that promotes productive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, customers, vendors, and others with whom such relationships are important to the success of company operations.

12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory responsibilities

13. Supports Company’s succession planning and talent development strategies by taking an active role in:

a) identifying successor candidates through recruitment and internal talent assessment

b) evaluating individual and team needs

c) creating development plans/goals

d) providing ongoing feedback and mentoring

14. Manages team performance by ensuring each team member understands their job roles, responsibilities, and expectations and by regularly providing feedback on performance. Holds team members accountable for following our Core Operating Values.

15. Builds and maintains collaboration within team and between other teams in the company. Resolves conflicts between team members and with other teams.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree or equivalent related work experience

* 6+ years of manufacturing accounting experience

* 4+ years supervisory/management experience

Preferred:

* CPA designation or in the process of attainment

* MBA or in the process of attainment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Computer, Technical, Mechanical, Mathematical and/or Scientific Skills

* Proficient skills in MS Word and PowerPoint and Advanced skills in Excel.

* Ability to perform mathematical calculations required to complete all principle duties and assigned tasks.

* Highly advanced knowledge of accounting/finance and financial reporting, including GAAP and statutory requirements.

* Ability to create and interpret complex to highly complex financial statements and reports.

Communication Skills – Verbal, Written, Training, Presenting, etc.

* Advanced oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with clarity, high-level of accuracy, persuasiveness and in a positive, influential manner. Demonstrates the ability to convey information that is meaningful and well received by others. Ability to communicate with all levels employees and management and with external contacts.

* Ability to write effective memos, e-mails, correspondence and documents.

* Advanced presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to lead and facilitate effective meetings (obtain buy-in and collaboration) and make effective presentations to all levels of staff and management.

* Ability to mentor, teach and train others.

* Advanced investigative and problem solving skills, demonstrating the ability identify and resolve complex problems that require further detailed investigation and analysis to establish alternative solutions and weigh risks and benefits, and their impact to team members, customers, department and company.

* Advanced management skills, demonstrating the ability to lead and inspire others to achieve personal, department, plant and company goals/objectives and to stay focused on our Core Operating Values.
