Buying Operations Associate

We are looking for a Buying Operations Associate to support the Director of Buying and to serve as a liaison inter-departmentally. This position is located within our Buying Department in our Brooklyn, NY corporate office.

In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Buying to lead initiatives, research, monitor POs, interact with departments, attend meetings, and general project management. The ideal candidate must possess a strong business acumen, be detail-oriented, have industry-specific work experience, have good communication skills, be comfortable working in a team, and keep buyers updated. You must also be a self starter who is able to identify gaps in the business process to escalate where appropriate.


Duties and Responsibilities:

· Provide direct support to the Director of Buying and to the buying team as needed

· Lead the PO process and alert the Director of Buying to all discrepancies

· Complete administrative tasks as assigned by the Director of Buying

· Adept at communicating and negotiating with suppliers on the Director of Buying behalf when needed

· Maintain an organized workflow using end-to-end completion of all tasks

· Submit weekly project and progress reports

· Act as a liaison with our IT, Content, Platform, and Warehouse departments to follow up on all open ticket requests received from the buying team

· Assist with planning, monitoring, and maintaining suitable inventory levels

· Perform routine data analytics, forecasting, and reporting using Excel


Requirements:

· General understanding of e-commerce marketplaces i.e. Amazon, eBay, and Walmart

· Must possess a basic understanding of the buying process (velocity, P&L, etc.)

· Understanding of retail math (open to buy, aged inventory, etc.)

· Comfortable using systems and platforms (Sellercloud, ticketing systems, Power BI, MS Office, etc.)

· Ability to analyze trends, perform under pressure, be adaptive, and able to quickly switch gears

· Must have previous experience supporting C-level executives in an administrative or operational capacity
