Job Summary:

The Director of Compensation is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of the company's compensation programs, policies, and procedures. This role ensures that compensation practices are competitive, equitable, and aligned with the organization's strategic objectives. The Director of Compensation will work closely with senior leadership, HR partners, and external consultants to design and execute effective compensation strategies that attract, retain, and motivate top talent.

Key Responsibilities:

Compensation Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive compensation strategies that support the organization’s business objectives and talent management goals.
  • Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to ensure competitive compensation practices.
  • Recommend and implement changes to compensation programs based on market trends, business needs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Hourly compensation including sales incentives
  • Strategy to equalize pay across North America

Program Management:

  • Oversee the administration of all compensation programs, including base pay, incentives, bonuses, and equity compensation.
  • Ensure programs are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures.

Executive Compensation:

  • Design and manage executive compensation programs, including long-term incentives and deferred compensation plans.
  • Prepare materials for the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Ensure alignment of executive compensation with company performance and shareholder interests.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Conduct detailed compensation analyses to support decision-making.
  • Prepare and present reports on compensation trends, competitiveness, and program effectiveness.
  • Utilize compensation data to drive strategic decisions and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Partner with HR Business Partners and senior leaders to understand business needs and develop compensation solutions.
  • Provide guidance and training to HR and management on compensation-related topics.
  • Collaborate with external consultants and vendors as needed.

Compliance and Governance:

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure compensation programs are administered consistently and equitably.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in compensation, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Experience with executive compensation and equity programs.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with compensation management software and tools.
