Contract duration: one year contract

Pay rate: $36/hour.

Job Purpose:

Work with design/test engineers on building test fixtures, debugging circuitry, setting up tests, maintaining equipment, and performing testing.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Set up dynamometers for electric motor and/or inverter testing.
  • Perform inspections and tests as necessary to determine the cause of defective electronic assemblies with instruction.
  • Rework products per company and industry standards.
  • Build test harnesses, loads, and circuit boards to support product design as required.
  • Document and maintain records relating to work performed.
  • Inform the supervisor of process or design problems and assist in the corrective action.
  • Communicate with others in a professional and effective manner.
  • Design and build engineering test fixtures.
  • Perform other associated tasks as required by the supervisor and manager.

Required Education:

  • A.S. in Electronics, a two-year technical diploma, equivalent military certification, or equivalent experience.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum one year of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering is required; three or more years of related experience is preferred.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of personal computers, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and electronic components.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of diagnostic equipment and methods (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes).
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting to identify root cause.
  • Ability to read intermediate engineering documents (e.g., schematics or diagrams).
  • Maintain necessary product records and documentation.
  • Ability to comprehend and use product/process component datasheets.
  • Ability to assemble and disassemble products.
  • Ability to maintain lab equipment.
  • Ability to perform mechanical work.
  • Ability to train an Electronics Technician I.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to solder.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and electronic components.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
