Position Overview:

 

The Manager of Logistics and Supply Chain for an engine leasing company is responsible for managing the end-to-end logistics and supply chain processes, including the procurement, transportation, warehousing, and distribution of aircraft engines and associated parts. This role ensures that all operations are executed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with industry standards and regulations to support the timely leasing, maintenance, and return of aircraft engines and parts.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Supply Chain Management:

 

  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies to optimize the procurement and delivery of leased engines, spare parts, and maintenance materials.
  • Coordinate with engine manufacturers, maintenance repair organizations (MROs), and other suppliers to ensure timely availability of engines and components.
  • Manage inventory levels of spare parts and components, ensuring optimal availability to meet leasing and maintenance demands.

 

Logistics Coordination:

 

  • Oversee the transportation of engines and parts, including domestic and international shipping, customs clearance, and compliance with aviation and trade regulations.
  • Ensure efficient storage and handling of engines, shipping stands and parts in warehouses.
  • Implement logistics solutions to improve turnaround times and reduce costs while ensuring the safe and secure transport of high-value assets.

 

Vendor & Supplier Management:

 

  • Establish and maintain relationships with engine OEMs, MROs, logistics providers, and other key suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and regulatory requirements.

 

Compliance & Safety:

 

  • Ensure all logistics and supply chain activities comply with aviation industry regulations, including FAA, EASA, and other relevant authorities.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and records to meet legal and regulatory standards for engine leasing and transport.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure that all engines and parts meet required safety and performance standards before deployment.

 

Budget & Cost Management:

 

  • Develop and manage the logistics and supply chain budget, identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics, inventory, and supply chain operations.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management, preferably within the aviation or aerospace industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Aviation Management, or a related field is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of engine leasing processes, aviation regulations, and international trade compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage complex logistics operations involving high-value assets in a global market.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.

 

Work Environment:

 

  • This position typically operates in an office environment (Dallas, Texas office), with occasional travel to supplier sites, warehouses, and other operational facilities.
  • The role may require working outside standard business hours to address urgent logistical issues, especially given the global nature of the business.
