Description

The Centersquare Mechanical Lead is responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of the mechanical infrastructure within the Data Center as assigned by the Facilities Manager in a 24/7 mission critical environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the maintenance of mechanical and support maintenance of electrical infrastructure per manufacturers’ recommendation and corporate specifications.
  • Ability to work under a dynamic and high-pressure environment to deal with concurrent issues effectively
  • Responsible for ensuring all scheduled tasks and work processes are completed.
  • Work directly with the customer and/or Centersquare support staff to identify and troubleshoot as necessary to isolate the root cause of problems to include standing, bending and kneeling as needed to perform this task.
  • When required, escalate events in a timely manner to the appropriate team according to proper procedures.
  • Perform and execute necessary rounds such as Security and/or Facilities rounds throughout the Data Center and around the property as directed to insure the integrity of the site.
  • Perform customer installation activities to include but are not limited to cage builds, rack layouts, electrical circuits, HVAC hot/cold aisle configuration, etc.
  • Provide oversight of contractors and service providers in the Data Center as appropriate.
  • Conduct daily inspections of all Data Center infrastructure equipment.
  • Ensure Computerized Maintenance Management System data accuracy.
  • Monitor building management systems and other automated tools and applications to ensure operational efficiencies.
  • As a member of an on–call rotation provide emergency response as needed.
  • Shift, evening and weekend work required.
  • Perform assigned tasks when part of a project team.
  • Respond to both internal and external work requests within a timely manner delivering a high level of support.
  • Lifting of Centersquare and/or customer equipment required up to and in excess of 50 lbs. Server lifts can be utilized where applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Skills:

  • Operational experience with Data Center equipment that includes but not limited to switchgear, Chillers, RTU, CRAH/CRAC, Chilled Water systems, and VESDA
  • Strong team player.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to successfully interact with both internal and external customers.
  • Detail oriented to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to maintain all facility related documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Military training or technical certifications desired.


Desired Skills:

  • Individual should be a self-starter with problem solving skills and able to carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with DCIM tool e.g. Struxureware.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Service Now.
  • Strong project management, trouble-shooting and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of budgets and procurement processes.
