Capital Advisors Group, Inc. (www.capitaladvisors.com), an independent institutional investment advisor specializing in short-term, fixed-income investment management, is seeking a Business Development Analyst.

 

The Business Development Analyst will assist in generating sales opportunities and driving revenue growth within the early-stage life science and technology markets. This role collaborates with a team of seasoned business development professionals, focusing on several key areas:


  1. Relationship Management: Work closely with the business development team to prospect new clients, maintain relationships with past clients, and onboard new clients.
  2. Sales Analytics: Responsible for reporting on sales metrics as well as developing, implementing, and evaluating sales strategies that improve processes.
  3. Database Management: Collaborate across the organization to drive business efficiency and data integrity within our client relationship management database.
  4. Sales Activities: Contribute to sales growth through strategic sales initiatives and activities.
  5. Target Market Identification: Analyze market data, trends, and competition to identify new opportunities, quantify market share, and conduct strategic assessment of competitive landscape.


Additionally, this role interfaces with the Marketing Team to execute impactful campaigns to drive new sales leads. The Business Development Analyst also collaborates with the Portfolio Management team and has the chance to engage directly with clients.

The Business Development Analyst position will be based in Boston, MA and will allow for hybrid work.

 

Responsibilities


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Utilizing industry standard databases to research target markets and prospects to generate warm leads;
  • Help build and maintain the client-relationship-management (CRM) database of existing organizational relationships across clients, prospects, and third-party intermediaries;
  • Track market activity, venture fundings, IPOs, and other capital raises within the venture-backed life science and technology markets to identify sales opportunities;
  • Work with Sales Directors to help prepare sales presentations, conduct pre-meeting research, and assist with prospect outreach;
  • Conduct research as needed to understand market trends and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain business reporting analytics; and
  • Attend prospect meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities as appropriate.

 


Qualifications


·      Bachelor’s degree, preferably within a related field such as marketing, or finance, or economics;

·      Familiarity with Salesforce, Pitchbook, and Sales Navigator is preferred;

·      Excellent attention to detail and time management and organizational skills;

·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

·      The ability to successfully manage competing priorities and deadlines; and

·      The ability to take initiative while working in a team environment and partnering with various internal constituents.
