Our client, a premier marketing agency within the food and beverage industry, is growing and looking to add a fulltime Senior Social Media Strategist to their team. Ideally this person will be hybrid in Chicago, with maintained flexibility.


Overview:

The ideal candidate will have deep experience and a proven track record of success across all phases of the social media marketing process, from building foundational landscape analyses to charting hyper-relevant content strategies, to building engaged communities, to implementing paid strategies…and beyond. This person should bring their deep understanding of the ever-evolving digital and social media landscapes, think strategically about where the space is moving long term and push the agency to be more innovative.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies across key platforms for multiple clients in food and beverage categories
  • Collaborate with internal teams to plan and produce original photo, video, and graphic content, nimbly leveraging a mix of in-house studio and external freelance resources
  • Lead the development of workflows and schedules in partnership with project managers to ensure deliverables meet expected deadlines with internal stakeholders
  • Monitor, track, and analyze the performance of organic content and paid campaigns, providing reports on key metrics to internal teams
  • Plan and implement paid social media strategies across multiple platforms from awareness through to conversion
  • Lead the development of impactful community management strategies, maintaining highly engaged community responsiveness
  • Mentor junior team members, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement
  • Provide regular insights and recommendations on emerging platforms, tools, and technologies
  • Work collaboratively across agency departments


Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field, or equivalent work experience, Required
  • 6-8 years of experience in social media marketing is required. Additional experience in the food and beverage industry is preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of social channels, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, Pinterest, and YouTube
  • Fluency with social media management platforms such as Sprout Social, Emplifi, Sprinklr, or Later
  • Strong experience planning, implementing, optimizing, and reporting on paid campaigns
  • Proficiency with social media listening tools such as Infegy Atlas or with the listening tools within suites such as Sprout Social
  • Familiarity with design and art direction principles with the ability to speak fluently in collaborating and providing feedback to creatives
  • Experience in coordinating projects and deadlines
  • Experience within the food services industry, from procurement and supply chain angle, a PLUS.
