JOB STATEMENT

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring that all product meets customer requirements and company policies. This position creates, maintains, and enforces all written programs including HACCP, GMP, and ISO, while ensuring company-wide compliance to FDA regulations relating to production and distribution of dietary supplements.


DUTIES

  • Must stay current on quality guidelines and industry standards
  • Provide leadership and management of all quality control personnel
  • Responsible for creation of written documentation of programs relating to quality
  • Oversee QC and GMP training of all employees, communicating completed training to HR department
  • Responsible for maintenance of training files and controlled documents
  • Be familiar with the Ovacore production process and demonstrate a detailed knowledge of quality functions related to production and disbursement
  • Design and review/approve controlled documents such as SOPs, work instructions, and associated forms
  • Responsible for understanding and fulfilling international export documentation requirements
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner
  • Provide guidance to effectively resolve deviations and out of specification results
  • Manage investigations and corrective actions relating to quality of product, communicate trends to all management
  • Provide support for international and domestic regulatory, certification, and customer quality audits as needed
  • Responsible for all other duties as assigned by leadership


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in quality and regulatory compliance in a regulated industry
  • Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and other regulatory requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree with coursework in science and/or life sciences preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to use various basic laboratory equipment
  • Strong organizational, time management, and leadership skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, inclusive of the ability to interact and work well across all levels of the company
  • Ability to keep accurate records
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and other basic office equipment


WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Frequent activities of work environment include sitting, standing, walking, typing and other computer work, using telephone and other standard office equipment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently in an office environment
  • Occasional lifting of 50 pounds
  • Exposure to dust and sulfite allergens


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Quality personnel
  • Shipping and receiving personnel
