Our client is looking to hire a CAD Design Technician to work onsite at one of their Arizona locations. Our client performs civil infrastructure design and permitting support for a combination of municipal governments and private companies throughout the US. Our team is growing at a steady pace and needs a civil CAD designer in our Tucson, AZ or Phoenix, AZ office to continue to support future and ongoing contracts. Our office consists of several technical disciplines that provide services within the environmental, geotechnical, mechanical, civil, construction, and field services. The pay scale for this position is $55K to $70K based on qualifications and experience.

Your Role:

  • Work on design teams to create design drawings for heavy civil infrastructure including mass and detailed grading, drainage, roads, tanks, pipelines, concrete structures using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Prepare figures and details using AutoCAD for various reports.
  • Follow and maintain CAD standards for the design group.
  • Efficiently produce final product drawings from concept sketches with technical guidance from engineers and senior CAD designers.
  • Produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings using 3D visualization of terrain, cut and fill slopes, concrete structures, and pipelines.

Create and manage 3D surfaces to produce design drawings and volume calculations.

  • Ability to thoroughly understand 3D geometric relationships within a 2D image.

Qualifications:

  • 0 to 4 years of experience.
  • Computer knowledge in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with computer aided design (CAD).
  • Ability to work in a team environment with local and remote team members.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently when managing multiple tasks.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in an engineering consulting firm is considered an asset.
