Overview

The Associate Private Client Portfolio Manager position at Kornitzer Capital Management is the ideal role for an individual looking to join an ensemble team of private client investment management professionals. The Associate Private Client Manager will partner with a Portfolio Manager as a developmental role to eventually take on a full client book of business.


Our firm allows Portfolio Managers to play a key role in portfolio construction, company analysis, and ongoing portfolio management to meet client objectives. By working closely with clients, you will understand their financial goals and design diversified portfolios tailored to their needs. Collaborating with experienced Portfolio Managers and other specialists, you will analyze market trends, identify investment opportunities, and help deliver comprehensive investment strategies for multi-generational wealth. Partnering with our private wealth advisors will integrate in estate planning and tax considerations for holistic financial solutions.

                                                                           

Responsibilities


  • Responsible for assisting in the building of client relationships by understanding their financial objectives, providing tailored investment advice, and delivering exceptional service.
  • Support the portfolio construction process, including asset allocation, security selection, and risk management to achieve client-specific objectives.
  • Conduct company research to identify high-quality investment opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Portfolio Manager on ongoing portfolio reviews and rebalancing to ensure alignment with clients' financial goals and market conditions.
  • Collaborate with private wealth advisors to integrate investment strategies with comprehensive financial plans, including estate planning, tax considerations, and holistic wealth management solutions.
  • Partnering with Portfolio Manager, monitor market trends and economic developments to adjust portfolios proactively and capitalize on new opportunities.
  • Prepare investment reports and presentations for clients, articulating the rationale behind investment decisions and portfolio performance.
  • Stay current with industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and uphold the highest standards of fiduciary responsibility.
  • Work as part of a collaborative team to support the overall goals of the firm and contribute to a dynamic, innovative work environment.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree required – preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or another related field
  • 2+ years’ experience in a financial planning, investment analysis, research, trading or other organization that provides relevant experience
  • CFA or near completion of designation required


Skills And Knowledge


  • Highly effective relationship management and communication skills
  • In-depth understanding of financial markets, asset classes, and investment vehicles (i.e. equities, fixed income, derivatives, alternatives)
  • Knowledge of macroeconomic indicators and their impact on financial markets
  • Familiarity with various investment strategies (i.e. value, growth, income, quantitative) and portfolio management techniques
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and desire to work as part of a wealth management team
