Thank you for stopping by to take a look at the Project Manager role I posted here on LinkedIN, I appreciate it. If you have seen my job descriptions in the past, welcome back. If you are new to my JD's, you will notice I like to add some humor to these things. Life is too short to not have a chuckle or two.


So, as with just about every role I work on, social fit is almost as important as the technical fit. So...you might ask, what are some of those social fit characteristics for this role? Well...here are some:

  • This is a small firm (roughly 20 employees), so you will never hear someone say "this isn't my job" This company is focused, first second and third, on the customer. So, if you are customer centric and like to have your fingers in a lot of things, this role is for you.
  • Have you ever been in an environment where there is that one person who thinks that the entire world revolves around them? It stinks, doesn't it? Well...you won't find that kind of person here. So, that means we are seeking that person that doesn't have an ego the size of Montana.
  • Like I said, this is a small environment...so, that ability to move fast and get 'er done is important. There aren't layers and layers of management approval needed to just get things done.


Here is what we are seeking:

We are ONLY looking for candidates that are already in Denver (or can relocate to Denver). However, local individuals to Denver will be given preference.


This role is permanent, I can ONLY work with US Citizens or Green Card Holders for this role.


Here is what we are seeking: We are seeking that hybrid of PM & BA. So, that need to gather requirements, document them, do all that process flow diagramming, along with that ability to track resources, deliverables and budgeting will all be needed for this role. More often than not, you will be an external customer facing PM that is tracking customer deliverables, budgets and timelines. Interestingly enough, you will be filling the shoes of the person who is working with this client's biggest customer. So, it is absolutely paramount that you are comfortable working with external customers. That ability to say yes when it is absolutely certain you can deliver and no when you can't will be needed.


This client is a software company that has a bolt on that connects with AccountMate, Sage, Quicken and Quickbooks...so, if you come from a software development background, that would be fantastic. If you have come from an environment that is relatively small where you hands were in a bunch of things, that would be good as well.


Here are some of the key responsibilities:

  • All those key things you would expect in a PM role....manage project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and closing phases of software implementation projects. This also includes developing & maintaining detailed project plans (timelines, budgets, resource allocation, metrics, and reporting).
  • Identifying those ever-important project risks, issues & dependencies.
  • Develop & communicate program vision, objectives, scale, the scope of work, resource level requirements, and expected outcomes.
  • Partner with my buddies in Engineering (it is led by a friend of mine name Matt) to help determine resource availability, and realistic delivery timelines.


Here is what we are seeking (I won't exhaust you with a zillion bullet points...half of which don't exist...):

  • At least 5 years of PM & BA experience. I am really going to be far more focused on breath & depth of experience, however, as opposed to years of experience.
  • Have you worked at a software firm or a consulting firm managing resource allocation, timelines of project deliverables? Well...than hot diggity, go ahead and apply.
  • A good chunk of experience managing complex software implementation projects.
  • As you might expect, we are seeking mastery in the development of statement of work, scope of work, and functional design documents from scratch.
  • Prior experience in supporting/training QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Sage AccountMate, and other business accounting systems would be absolutely fantastic.
