As a Quality Assurance Engineer at Straight Arrow News, you will be part of a dynamic and innovative team that is constantly seeking to improve the news media industry and deliver news to viewers in innovative ways. Responsibilities

● Perform thorough manual testing to identify defects and ensure the highest code quality.

● Work across mobile applications, website, and backend CMS to provide consistent quality across platforms.

● Create comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.

● Evangelize testing and work to create testing standards, fostering a culture of code accountability. Help identify testing libraries and utilities to integrate into our workflow.

● Champion automated and unit testing, work with engineers to incorporate automated testing in build tools.

● Participate in the full software development lifecycle to fully understand feature requirements and develop robust test plans. Collaborate with Product, Design and Engineering to refine user stories and identify possible edge cases.

● Work closely with external testers to ensure quality of tests performed.


Requirements

● Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

● 3-5 years of experience testing consumer-facing (B2C) digital products in an enterprise setting.

● Experience testing standalone mobile applications in addition to responsive web.

● Proven experience in manual testing and test automation.

● Experience with modern digital media integrations including advertising systems, analytics packages, consent management, and identity management frameworks.

● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

● Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

● A proactive approach and a keen attention to detail.


Preferred Qualifications

● Solid understanding of React Native

● Experience testing video products to web and mobile app platforms, including integrations with video advertising and analytics systems.

● Experience with performance, security, accessibility testing

● Experience with web analytics
