We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Cost Accounting Manager to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of cost accounting and financial reporting related to our manufacturing operations. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring accurate costing, optimizing production efficiency, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the manufacturing cost accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory valuation.
- Develop and maintain standard costing models for all products and components.
- Analyze manufacturing variances and provide actionable insights to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
- Collaborate closely with operations and procurement teams to review and optimize manufacturing processes and cost structures.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to manufacturing performance.
- Lead annual cost budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and mentor a team of cost accountants, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Proven experience (X+ years) in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, standard costing, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members.
