Location: Baton Rouge, LA (In-office position)


About the Role: As the Director of Non-Injury Claims, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the management and resolution of auto liability claims, ensuring they are handled efficiently and fairly. You will be responsible for developing strategies, leading a dedicated team, and ensuring compliance with all regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Claims Management: Direct and oversee the claims process for auto liability cases, comprehensive claims, rental, fire and theft claims, and Special Investigations Unit (SIU). Make decisions on complex liability and coverage issues and determine the disposition of SIU claims.
  • Strategy and Policy Development: Develop and implement effective strategies and policies for handling various claims, including guidelines for investigation and settlement.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and support a team of claims supervisors and adjusters, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high performance and development.
  • Compliance: Ensure all claims processes comply with legal regulations, industry standards, and GoAuto policies.
  • Customer Service: Address complex or escalated customer issues to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction, including responding to Department of Insurance complaints across all states.
  • Risk Management: Analyze claims data and trends to identify potential risks and areas for improvement, implementing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Budgeting and Financial Oversight: Assist in managing the budget for the claims department, focusing on expense control and resource allocation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with legal, underwriting, and sales departments to ensure a cohesive approach to claims handling.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on claims performance, trends, and outcomes to senior management, utilizing tools such as the Claims Reports, Audit Summary, and Adjuster Comparison tool.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the claims management process.
  • Vending Machine and Ice Machine Management: Act as the point of contact for ensuring the efficient operation of vending and ice machines, coordinating repairs as needed.
  • New Job Applicant Coordination: Monitor and manage email communications from potential job applicants on the GoAuto webpage, forwarding relevant messages to the appropriate hiring managers.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in managing auto liability claims and related processes.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing a team.
  • Excellent understanding of legal regulations, industry standards, and company policies related to claims.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on maintaining high satisfaction levels.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial oversight within a claims department.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements.
