Our client is seeking a Full-Time Envitonmenatl Water Specialist to support US based LNG export facility and service the global demand for North American natural gas. This Louisiana-based position will support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive water management program for the Plaquemines LNG facility.
  • Oversee water treatment systems to ensure they operate efficiently and meet water quality standards.
  • Conduct regular water quality monitoring and analysis, including sampling and laboratory testing.
  • Manage wastewater discharge in compliance with Louisiana Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (LPDES) permits and Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) regulations.
  • Prepare and submit required reports on water usage, treatment, and discharge to LDEQ via the LDEQ NetDMR System.
  • Identify and implement water conservation measures to reduce water consumption.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan.
  • Prepare and provide training to staff on water management practices, emergency procedures, and spill response.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).
  • Maintain records to demonstrate compliance with all applicable water management regulations, including permit and plan requirements.
  • Conduct inspections of all water management systems and infrastructure at the facility.
  • Research and stay updated on federal and state water quality regulations (LPDES, NPDES, Clean Water Act).
  • Conduct internal audits of water management activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in industrial water management or environmental compliance at an oil and gas facility.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state water quality regulations (LPDES, NPDES, Clean Water Act).
  • Experience with water treatment systems and water quality monitoring techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work in an industrial environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and environmental data management software is preferred.
